Battle of Geashill Sculptures
Today a project which started in 2017, but whose heart lies in an ancient battle was completed with the installation of the Battle of Geashill Sculpture. The Battle itself is a mythical story in the annals of the Four Master which recounts a story of two brothers, Éremon and Eber, who were joint kings of Ireland and of a great fight that took place between them in the hills close to the village of Geashill. 2019 Tidy Towns Success
Yesterday a group of our committee headed up to Blackrock, Co. Louth to the Regional Tidy Towns Award presentation. After a LONG drive up to Blackrock we had the warmest of welcomes and a lovely dinner in the local community centre followed by the presentation of awards to all the winners in the Midlands/East Region by Minister Michael Ring. This year Geashill achieved Top Village in Offaly, Gold Medal, National Pollinator Award and Top 3 Village in Ireland. And honestly we
